Asked a loong time ago about my 7080 making a noise, that I was told to be the torque limiter dampener springs making the noise. Well, the engine is making a noise as well. It runs just fine; smooth idling and running, not a miss, but it makes a clattering type noise thats really noticeable anywhere above 8-900rpms. Almost sounds like the valves, but I've adjusted them (the rockers could stand to be re-faced), pulled all the injectors and had them tested-just fine, checked the timing..its ok thought about the cam being out of time..not sure if that would cause what im hearing or not. I believe the intake valves were just starting to open at 25degrees BTDC. Have to check my book and see if thats where it should be. Am I missing something here? What's it sound like to yall without hearing it?? lol Thanks, -Wes

Time for an underhaul maybe? I'd do an oil analysis to make sure everything inside the engine is wearing normally.
