Not surprising really, at least in my mind. Not many of them out there and they haven't been made for a looooong time!

There was a lot of the tractors on that sale sold cheap enough.

I noticed that too. If it wasn't super collectible, or in top notch condition it was basically at or below scrap or salvage prices. I'm guessing location played a big part. If these were in Wisconsin, I feel a lot of them would have sold much higher. Makes me want to buy a semi and start relocating tractors for profit..

Remember, D-21 series one, there was only about 1250 of them made. A high percentage of them got turbos put on them, making them not original. Far more series 2 models built..

The big problem is there are a few collectors out there trying to corner the market.
I can see having one or two but a dozen sitting in the shop c’mon. Like leave some for the rest of us. |

From what I have seen recently, that figure is not too far out of line.

Here's the link to it. Apparently, it only requires 4 lug bolts on it's front wheels? Edited by AC7060IL - 30 Nov 2023 at 6:27am |

Kind of a cob-job on the engine. Turbocharger is mounted on a 7000 series exhaust manifold and there is no engine oil cooler. To me a series 1 should be non turbo/ non oil cooler for the most $$$$$$$ value.

No turbo, just a 7000 series exh man with an S pipe. Lots of little issues I see in the pics for a 30k tractor. My take is if they couldn't take the time to fix the front lug bolts, what else was short cut that we cannot see? Reminds me of a mecum beauty lol!

No PTO, 1 set of remotes, cheap seat, no 3pt hitch
It might be worth the money, just not to me.

My opinion if this tractor would not been on a big auction and guy was selling private he would of been lucky to get 1/2 of auction price
