All transmission gears are the same. The ring and pinion is the same too. Final drives are also the same.

At this time the 2 engines were running same rpm? Not like WD45 days where diesel was a good bit faster than gas rpm therefore requiring different PTO box and ring & pinion.

Yes this is correct. The gas engines were upped to 1650 governed RPM at the beginning of the D17s. The WD45 gas engines were 1400 RPM. The D17 ring and pinion is the same as WD45 diesels. I have a WD45 diesel that someone put a gas rearend in. I am using D17 parts to put it back correct.
