Hey guys,

It seems like I have low flow coming into the sediment bowl. I’ve read you guys say there should be 2 good streams but I’ve got just 1. How does one go about cleaning the line?

Thanks!

Sediment bowl inlet is plugged. Remove the sediment bowl base from the tank. If you blow air backwards to free the plugging, you blew it into the tank and it will come back and plug again someday.

...and after you remove the sediment bowl and clean it, rinse the tank thoroughly before reinstalling the sediment bowl, or you will be probably doing it again, soon.
I've had the best luck by actually removing the tank, so it can be tipped and turned.

Ok I’ll blow it backwards to try free it up and then clean out the tank and hope that fixes it. Thanks!

I tend to be cautious with all the hardware being old and potentially stuck/rusty and breaking off. My solution is to remove the sediment bowl and pressure wash the tank out and blow it dry with compressed air.   Garden hose and sprayer will work as well if you don’t have a pressure washer.

I have a 180D that was owned by the county to mow with years ago. When I got it it would run for awhile. sometimes weeks or sometimes hours then just die. I pulled the sediment bowl and very little fuel came out. So I drained the tank (siphoned fuel out). then took the shut off cock off and someone had put a hand full of #9 or so shot in the tank and a broken glass antifreeze tester. I cleaned it with rags tied on a stick and rinsed with diesel fuel. Amazing how the shot could restrict the flow of fuel then let enough though to let it restart after setting for a few minutes. Had me pulling my hair out till I took it apart.
