I have a WC that the oil pressure is very slow to come up. Its great oil pressure once it does, but its much slower getting there then my other WC's and WF.

It has the fram loose pack filter on it with the proper tube.

It almost seems that the oil all drains out of the filter and dosn't show much pressure till it takes while to fill again.

Thoughts?

To drain backward, you normally have a small leak on the outlet side of the pump..that lets air in and the oil leaks back thru the pump into the crankcase... It could be internal at the pump fitting where you can not see it... .. but could be external..

Look for any damp spots in the filter  / o-ring area... oil tubing fittings ... anything that could be a VERY SMALL damp spot that could mean air leaking BACK when shut down... You might want to remove the filter, clean the o-ring , inspect the seal and reinstall... just a possibility.

I'm wonderin' if the oil pickup tube is partially clogged.  Might be worth droppin' the pan and doin' a little invesagation..Sorry, that's Jersey talk for investigation. The ole' girl might need a little clean up in the old oil pan..I dropped the pan one day in my WC. Didn't know it weighed about 45 lbs with all the muck in it. Almost clobbered ma'self in the head!....
