My WD45 won't maintain a steady engine speed. 1/4 throttle or higher and the lever keeps sliding down the quadrant to wide open. The spring behind the quadrant doesn't look to be in the best of shape, and the blocks on the quadrant are probably worn some. Is it possible the quadrant will need replaced as well? It does show some wear on the throttle side as compared to the hydraulic lever. But how much is too much? Thanks

That spring is still there, possibly weak?

If it is there, then your friction block (worn) and the coil spring (probably broken) are the next best assumption as to what is wrong.

That little spring behind the quadrant is very important. The quadrant can be wore pretty bad as far as the grooves go and not be the problem. A new friction block will out last you.

That's what I figured, just wasn't sure how much the quadrant could be worn. There aren't any grooves worn into it, just smooth. Thanks
