The tach doesn't work does it work off the alternator?
When we got home there was a light on dash flickering that said hydraulic filter under 1800 rpm or something close that when you idled it down but went out when you revved it up a bit. Is that normal?

Normal for PD or PS transmissions.
The AC 7020 Owner Manual reads, “Transmission Oil pressure Warning Light located on RH side of legend panel, will glow red when transmission lube oil pressure is low. The light may be on when engine is running less than 1800rpms, but if it stays on above 1800 rpm, stop the tractor & contact your AC dealer to have transmission lube system checked.”

The alternator does supply the signal for the tachometer. Check your connections first.

Now that you have the tractor, buy a manual.  It will tell you everything you need to know, including that indicator light.

I usually get my manuals on e-bay.

I got one with it just haven't had time to read it yet, I panicked a bit when I seen that light on. I appreciate everyone's input and help.
Where are you in Ont? I'm in Eastern Elgin county.
