D19 power steering lines?

Working on making some room for an a/c compressor, and need to reroute the bypass line going to the power steering pump. I’ve read some people going to hoses, but what kind of fittings did you use? I would like a short sweep 90 coming out of the front end. It’s an inverted flare at the pump end like a brake line, but not sure the thread or how to get that to hose. The other end sticks down into the oil which I assume isn’t necessary?

I would have to look it up again, but I am fairly certain that is the oil suction line, which would make it necessary to stick down in the oil.

Nope, I was mistaken, that is the pump bypass, my guess is it needs to be under the fluid level to keep foaming to a minimum.

Just whack off that steel end off the old hose. Flare the steel tube end a tad and slide on a hose and hose clamp it. Do the same on the other end. There's nothing ever going thru that hose until you crank the steering wheel extreme right or left and hold it.

Make sure that chinsey nut on the PS pump pulley is tight. I never used those OEM nuts. I always used a regular 1/2" NF nut and Loctite so it would NEVER come loose and ruin the shaft and pulley, which is what usually happened to them.
