Hi all,

7010 head gasket was leaking oil externally all along cam side of engine. Removed gasket and it is oily the entire length on both sides all the way to firing rings. Coolant also leaking into oil via head gasket. Replaced head approx 1000 hrs ago due to over heating. Engine starts well and has good compression.

Is this possibly a faulty gasket? (Purchased at Agco dealer)

It a small amount of rtv an option?

Suggestions on head bolt torque, retorque?

Head gasket leaked on my 7045. Bubbles in coolant. Took the head off and sent to the machine shop checked for cracks etc... They put in exhaust guides for sure and valves I believe. Been fine since. Head gaskets can fail. Just be sure all the fundamentals are good . Like liner protrusion, flatness of block and so on.

I always retorque head bolts after the first heat to operating temperature then I do them after it has cooled off overnight

That was exactly my thought. I reuse original head bolts/nuts unless they are damaged. I retorque (cold) after a few (up to operating temperature) run sessions and readjust the valves.

I use a product called Hylomar on head gaskets.

If you start off with flat surfaces and retorque you should have no leaks.

An old service rep showed us a 'trick' of using 4# fishing line and putting a stran on top and bottom of head gasket. Where you describe and the left rear of the 426's always seep.   Really wish  you would have pulled the drain and used a scope or pulled the pan and pumped up the coolant system and let set overnight - hate to go to this effort and it not be the head gasket - 301's are NOT bad at blowing in such a manner as to put water in the oil. IF it is you have some warpage...
