I am considering purchasing an AC160 Diesel. The seller says there's a recent problem with the rear arms not lifting. He said if the tractor sets a day or two he has to prime the hydraulic system by squirting oil in it. Once it's primed he says it operates fine. What do you guys think? Is this a common problem, and will a new pump fix it? What the worst case scenario? |

160 is a great little tractor, parts are maybe high sometimes, but none the less still a good machine . They are known for hyd. pump problems as the pump is aluminum type, i i paid around $300.00 about ten years ago for one. Make sure filter is clean . There is also a screen in the suction line that goes down into transmission casing , that turned out to be my problem instead of the pump. Let me know if you need more info, Tom

My 160 has been a great tractor. It is a 1972 with 2700 hrs. My hydraulics were giving me a similar problem several years ago.....it was lsoing its prime. Turned out to be a loose clamp on the suction line between tube style filter in transmission and pump. There is a short section of rubber hose with hose clamps and that is where I found the problem. Been fine ever since. Mine still has original rear tires on it(Made in France). Eric NY
