Well ,I just found a D17 series 4 diesel wide front ,and quickly purchased it . I have a couple questions ,Is the center hood support the same as a d19 ? Also ,can anyone point me in the right direction for a replacement grill screen? I found her at an old farm supply off in the weeds . Glad to have her ,it turns over , but gotta take fuel filters and batteries to get her running . Should be fun .

Congratulations on your purchase. A series IV is a very desirable tractor. I have a gasser but would love to have a diesel also. Hopefully a couple batteries and filters can get you going but there might be more to it and that's why it was sitting. A diesel will cost much money if more engine work is needed and done right. Keep us posted and maybe some pictures. Ryan

Will do Ryan ,I’m glad to have her ,I am a generator technician by trade , so I have been around a lot of engines . I see that these old D17s have had their share of troubles . I will want to pull the hood and give her a look before I put it to work . She’s sorry looking now but some repairs and then cosmetic and paint she will be very nice . Thanks for the comment !

Welcome to the forum! Nice buy on the 17 series IV! Good tractor, will give many years of service if serviced regularly. Mikez owns a A-C dealership located in Selkirk, NY, he will prolly chime in and welcome you. I would recommend him for any new or used parts you may need. The D17 sheet metal is not interchangeable with the D19, except the center hood section, A-C part # 235380. Diesel D17 is same as gas/diesel D19

I bought a d19 center section today ,thank you for the tip on the local dealer ! I love the tractor and would like to keep it original ,I doubt she will see much hard use . We are going to use it for blueberries and some vegetable farming . Restoring it to its original class is first .

Thanks for your reply, I've been looking for it for 20 plus years. I did buy a replacement for it, but still would like to find his tractor, as I still have the operator's manual with the date of purchase, dealer and his signature. Good luck with your 8N search, and with your 17, is yours 3 pt., or snap coupler equipped?
