I recently purchased this origional paint, slightly used sickle mower for my 720. Just got around to mounting it to do some mowing. My cables that I use for the belly mower appear to be to short especially for the right side. I am hoping someone on the forum has one of these and can tell me if they took a different cable and the length. Thanks

Yes, there is a longer cable for the right side.  The left
side cable is the same.  Den

Robbie, nice looking tractor, I'ld be afraid to use for fear of getting it dirty.
I looked a lot of places for that cable and was unsuccessful in finding one, I ended up reworking mine with a lift cylinder for the cutter bar and use the cables for mower deck to lift. I've never been able for some reason to get my pictures to post here if you want to see send your email and I'll share that way.

I restored this 720 about 6 years ago. I do some work with her but I have another 720 origional paint as the work horse. Just looks to good on this one not to share the picture.

Den is there anyway you could get me a measurement of the right side cable? Hole to hole of the attaching points? Thank you in advance.

Thank you sir! I have a spare cable off a scrap machine. I am going to cut the attach ends off to reuse. A good friend used to raise poultry and had to make cables to raise the curtains on the sides of the building. He has the crimps and tool to make factory looking cable. I just need the total length to make one to fit and I will be in business.

Picked up some cable, crimp ends from a local Agri supply company, and made my own cable for the right side of the mower. Guessed at the length but it works well. This mower works just like my dads 80 R. Very happy with it now that I have a cable that makes it work correctly
