Hello, hopefully someone can help me. I have an Allis Chalmers 5020 with a belly mower 60 in. I bought it at an estate sale. It mows in very short grass, the electric pto clutch seems good, but the belt never seems to fully tension tight. One of the lower pullies where it shows the tension can be lifted up and down while the belt is on.
I am pretty sure the issue has to do with the two lower pullies that handle the tension. I have replaced the belt and it does the same thing.
Whenever I hit even remotely tall grass, the belt start wobbling and sliding around the pulley on the mow deck.
Any ideas?

It looks like the spring on the pulley may be gone. Does anyone know a part number or equivalent?

That looks like a #71664661 to me, if remember correctly.
Let's check the AGCO parts books online, login as guest, select ACGO Allis dropdown for the BRAND, type in 5020 for model.
Select 5015 / 5020 / FWA / 5030 ACCESSORIES AND IMPLEMENTS
Hum, very interesting look at all that stuff they made for the 5015, 5020, 5030.
Page 142 (CENTER MOUNTED - DRIVE HITCH & LIFT ASY), there is
that spring (item 16) I remember.... is that the correct one?
What are the odds AGCO has it? When you strike out at the Allis parts guys, perhaps Massey Ferguson sold
the same machine, and try that path. When that fails you, look you have a scaled
photo given.
I just wanted to remind ya all that the 5020 is in the AGCO parts books online.
But they don't have the 620/720!

I have another open thread. There is a little round rubber bumper that the mower deck bounces against. The rubber degraded and 90% of it came off somewhere in my field. No luck finding it, anyone know what that part would be?

Does someone have a picture of the position of the belt guards on the pulleys below the electric Pto, I don't think one of mine is positioned properly.

Not sure what you mean. The only belt guards on the machine are fastened to the mower deck

The pulleys that you pictured above, do they not have a bar on then that secures over the belt? I'll try to get a pick.

There are 2 1/4" rods that hold the assembly on the tractor but not necessarily the belts

Ok,mine does not have those and I have never had a problem with the belt coming off. Don't recall seeing them in the manual either
