Getting my 720 ready for garden work after setting all winter, and it will not steer, can't get no reaction at all to the front steer tires,, I drove it around in circles thinking it may come out of it, nope, any recommendations?

I am assuming the steering wheel turns? Never heard of that issue. There is a bolt that holds the steering wheel on, several roll pins that attach the universal joints to the steering colunm and to the steering box I believe. Check each of them to make sure one hasn't sheered.

No , the steer wheel does not turn, took the linkage away from the front end and it turns, acts like it should,, the steering gearbox seems stuck,,

it was working fine when you put it away?

any chance water got in your gearbox somehow froze causing something to break?

i remember that mine at one time had a spot in the gearbox where it would bind while i was mowing the lawn, u-joints were o.k. just lubed the gearbox inside and adjusted the free play.

if you had a bad u-joint i would think the wheel would turn ever so slightly back -in forth.
might be something in the gearbox or steering shaft.

Glad you got it figured out! Jut got off my 720 mowing with the sickle bar mower. It did a good job although I couldn't lift it correctly until I get a right side cable made up.
