I have a Simplicity 7112 that had been repowered with a B&S V twin before I purchased it. Something came thru the front side of the engine. Needless to say no longer runs. I have a line on a good Onan 140 Elite and was wondering if this would work as a replacement engine. Also what would I need in addition to make this work.

I've done a few 're-powers' and the FIRST thing I do is go online and find  'drawings' of what the engines are physically. I recall putting a Kohler where a B&S was and man it was a PITA ! Engine needed to be turned 90* from 'normal' to make it fit under the hood, then muffler was a 'problem'... wiring was easy as I just happen to have a premade 'conversion' adapter, still NOT a walk in the park.
My suggestion would be to find another B&S that WILL drop-in, wire-up and work unless you really, really want an all-summer-long  'project'.

Depends on how mechanicly inclined you are, for some it's a walk in the park. Just my $.02
