I had to get my American /Bosch fuel pump repaired on my 45D . The primary pump on the outside of the master fuel pump. I had the gears repaired, but when I bolted it back on( 2- 1/4" bolts to hold the primary pump to the master pump with a gaskit, and 4 slotted screws that held the primary pump together, without any gasket) It has been leaking, but I am afraid I am going to strip something trying to get it tight. can I put a saran wrap gasket in there if I cut out the area where the gears are? I am afraid I could not get a silicone gasket even enough to make a good fit.
Thanks Harold

I don't remember the proper name for this gasket paper but it is the same gasket paper that is used on the power steering control valve were it mounts to the front support on a D17. It is very thin brown paper and may have been oiled. This gasket material is so thin if you look at it wrong it will tear.
Maybe someone call post the proper name for it.

Vellum, like drafting paper. Â Not sure if McMaster Carr has it or not, but you might get away with some Vellum from the art supply store.

Parchment paper might just do the job. You can get it at you super market.
Check the foil and plastic wrap isle or the baking isle.
