Was listening to their auction a bit ago and a D 21 came up - they were talking up that it was a series 2- had all the transmission upgrades, would shut up about this - my understanding is a series 2 had the turbo setup and maybe some final drive up grades, right or ????

I saw the same thing and by looking at the exhaust manifold; it looked like the Turbo set-up. But I did not see any decal on it. I thought the series 2 had a decal that read "Turbocharged Diesel" or "Turbo Diesel". These guys know very little about AC. I remember one episode they were selling a D21, and they said it had the mighty 301 engine.

The three amigo's on the Mecum Auction TV show are very ignorant on A-C stuff. If I could get in touch with them, I would try to help educate them a bit, but I doubt they would listen. They have a TV show and I don't.

Could be a Series I that had a turbo added to it. Quite easy to do and was done a lot. Could be a Series II with the wrong decal set put on it but yes, originally the hood decal said "Series II Turbocharged Diesel" on both sides at the end near the driver platform.
