Anyone have any idea what the lens might have been made of!
the 'lenses' is some sort of plastic like material sandwiched between two metal discs that ore riveted together. Opaque in the front lights, red in the rear. I'm pretty sure thee are after market, but still have been on this truck for a very long time. I would like to rebuild them if I can. Interesting, the curled up mounting piece on this one is not present on the left side.

Yes: Aftermarket for sure. Back in 28 a turn/stop signal was various contortions of your left arm. I'm sure that would be most likely some sort of plastic, slightly possible thin glass. I'd think if you could carefully remove the rivets, you'd find there was just a colored disc of some translucent material. Colored Lexan or plexiglass would be a possible replacement.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Find someone in the theater production industry. They used colored filters on the stage lights. Probably not uv stable for long term but these vehicles would likely be stored inside most of there remaining life
