Last four in the paint room Cut in and to be sprayed yet tonight:


Four shown prior with new stems installed and the spacer rings. All eight tires will stretch on and be refitted to the trailer in the morning.



Nuts for the Dayton, (spoke hubs) wedges. 20 minutes prior to the photo they were a crusty/rusty mess. Cleaned up nicely and will be painted black as will the wedges.



Harvest isn't waiting so need to get a move on.....

Voila!! Last four drying down. Long day as I started at 6:30 a.m. and it's now 12:15a.m. so not too bad for a grouchy, and retired 65 year old codger.

Come morning in about five hours, I'll install new stems, stretch the rubber back onto the rims, reinstall onto the trailer, and head to harvest.

Hardware painted after blasting yesterday:



Slipped the wheel ends together while the paint on the hardware was being forced dried, and equalized all tire pressures at 100psi:



Buttoned the job up and getting ready to deliver it this afternoon:

The reason I kept this thread going citing the lack of interest shown is I do good blast, and paint work Don't have loyalty to any brand or color as the only one that matters to me is US currency green.

Back from another successful harvest so back at it. Rebuilding/upgrading an old drop deck with hydraulic ramps. Sometimes it's a lot easier to work when positioned correctly for the work:

Skid steer won't quite lift it high enough:


Winch truck is nice to have around at times:


Yep, little easier to blast the underside like this:


Topside will get the same treatment:



Will probably roll it over onto it's back also but need to have the owner do some evaluating before progressing further.

Trailer is a direct result of the wheels refinish job posted earlier.

Lazy damned trailer decided to lay on it's back and take a nap during the workday:



I took a grinding disc to it's belly and sliced 68 six inch fillet welds to remove the 3/4" strap that was welded to the bottom of the main beams as they were rust jacked as shown:



Actually not too awful bad once removed and I'll cover with a piece of 3/16" strip prior to replacing the reinforcement stringers:



Going to replace the front spring hangers, spreader bars, and trailing arms with new that are on hand. At the same sitting, going to convert to spring brake chambers as the trailer is old enough it only has service brake chambers now. Makes it kind of hard to get under at times without blocking the wheels, or setting the brakes on the trailer:



Got bored after working on the trailer so moved onto cutting apart some surplus transformers removed from my 400W metal halide shop lamp fixtures when converted to LED bulbs. These 100% copper cores and a couple tons of other shop scrap will be donated to a program directly supporting handicapped kids at the grade school my granddaughter attends. Have 38 in total to do.

And just to keep on track, I painted some Allis-Chalmers parts from my bulldozer this morning early; basically to test the color match. Mixed in semi gloss Allis construction yellow:

Raining today so nothing of interest to post most likely. Did have a frame for a 69 Chevy Blazer show up for blasting that is broken completely down into pieces. Next clear day I'll get to it and blast clean. Not doing anything other than blasting this clean for the guy. Will probably prep some of the xfmrs mentioned earlier, or convert some additional light fixtures in the shop to LED as haven't completed that task yet. Also need to pump the juice back into a rear tire on my mowing tractor as finally located my transfer pump.

Halloween so going to take granddaughters trick or treating tonight. Hopefully a break in the rain, but forecast calls for dropping temps throughout the day and will probably be cut short. Got a call from the six year old last evening making sure grandpa would be there.

Got after the Blazer parts yesterday for a couple of hours. Still have the main frame rails and one xmember to do and then they go away:

Using my small blast pot for this job as it lets you get into the "nooks and crannies" much easier than the larger unit. Had a coupler wear through from the abrasive stream:



Two and a half hours, and 500#'s of abrasive later:





Owner has ordered a brand new reproduction body shell from Taiwan that should arrive just after the first of the year.

Got an 8070 Allis being taken completely apart as I type this for blasting shortly. Hopefully my new soda blaster setup will arrive by then so I can paint strip the hood, and sheet metal down to bare substrate. Guy has four 8070 tractors all being FWA types and they are used routinely. We redid one year before last and no, it wasn't a wire wheel, and Tractor Supply overhaul.
