Finally joined the 8000 series club.
8050 , with power director bought over the phone and low and behold the hi low pwr shift doesn’t work. Im used to the buttons on the floor. I’m assuming I should start diagnosing at the switch, solenoid, valve body? Im not sure how these style are set up. Any advise before I start tearing into it? And of course no service records or books came with the tractor. Thanks |

Make sure the clutch pedal comes clear UP. Hook your toe under it and pull it fully UP. Could be a bad switch on the clutch pedal too, which does the same thing.

Check the fuse if Dr's procedure doesn't cure it

8050 should have the PD switch on steering column not buttons on floor. MACK

I'd start with the clutch pedal switches too.

Thanks guys. I pulled two panels off the dash, the upper switch must have vibrated up wasn’t even near making contact. The bottom safety one i literally had to stand with all my weight to start it so that one is getting adjusted as well. I’ll try it out tomorrow. Fingers crossed that i have a good pwr director.
Any clutch cable adjustment i should do while under there? I have no specs to go from. Thanks |

The wires on my 8050 fall off the magnetic actuator easily behind the power director valve behind the battery.
