Spreading manure Monday with one of my 45's and it started missing. Sounded like on of those green things when I got home! After lunch I went to swap it out with my other 45, but no start. Power all the way to distributer with key on. Put in a premium tuneup kit from Steiner (made in Taiwan package said). No help. Swapping coil for a spare. Now here is the question- coil on the tractor (which had been running for years) had distributor post wired to ignition wire, and battery post wired to distributor .?.? This would seem to be backward to me..do I hook it up like the old one that worked or hook it up properly?? Or doesn't it matter ??   Thank you guys..(considered scrap gas, drained tank, sediment bowl, and carb bowl then put in fresh gas - no help).Dan

If your BATTERY is Negative HOT -- then you connect to the NEGATIVE terminal on the coil.. If you BATTERY is Positive HOT ( neg ground)-- then you connect to the POSITIVE terminal on the coil.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.
