anyone have or know of a company that makes man lifts so one can get up into a combine cab? the steps are to far apart for my legs to climb up the ladder.

I have a friend that has MS and they farm thousands of acres in central Kansas. He is unable to pull himself up into the tractors or combine. They have lifts on both to enable him to get in and out. I can check and see what brand or where they got them if you want. Their equipment is all green but, that shouldn't matter.

My dad wanted me to build a Jimmy Lift. I asked, what is a Jimmy Lift? He said, that is a lift to get Jim(his name) from the ground up to the platform. I remember having a laugh about it then. Now it seems like a good idea.

If the steps are too far apart why not just add in another set of steps half way in between? Could even redesign ladder to make them 2/3 distance. My grandfather had a saying “ inactivity leads to inactivity” basically use it or loose it. He could get on and off his D17 until 6 weeks before he died at 99. And no the 17 didn’t have any additional steps on it.

How great for your grandfather. Maybe you’ll be that lucky. And yet there are those that begin to experience trouble walking and climbing despite all their activity. My own father and grandfather come to mind. Dad just turned 86. He has done the vast majority of the hay this year and can still get in the combine. He’s In complete agony, but does it anyway. Barely, not sure how much longer.
