I know it's been months but finally have the seat assembly blasted and painted.

Now I need to buy cushions for it.

Any recommendations?

Platform tops match the seat spacer height.

Seat height is very comfortable now with the spacers and raised platform. The suspension has also been reworked. Before the Doc's work it would beat the heck out of me

It really helps offset the high crown fenders and what seems to be a higher hood compared to a D-17. A good suspension that keeps you up off the bottom is the first start. I like my feet to just touch the platform when I'm in the seat for the best view on a 170/175.

You need to put a heavy washer as large of diameter as you can under bolt heads. It will fatigue  them holes in seat frame  on them spacers over time. JMHO, Tracy
