Found a gasket today from old dealer but fire rings are separate. D262 diesel series IV. Any input to install with separate rings?

Just install - BUT- HOWEVER- WARNING - before you do, check for sleeve stand out. The edges of the sleeves must be a few thousanths above the edges of the block irregardless of what the service manual states. We have done a few that were flush.  IF the sleeve's edge is below the deck you will be doing it again.  Also bottom tap the head bolt female threads in the block - install head bolts w/o washers as 'test' to make sure the bolts will torque the head and not torque because they bottom out. Then replace the head bolt washers of course. Make sure the deck is level and the head flat. Retorque after warming up to operating  temp and reset valves- D262's were not friendly to head gaskets.

also in the "old days' there were head gaskets for Gas, LP and Diesel... as to OEM... the difference was thickness.  The 262 was one of the sweetest running engines around - the sound from mechanics and parts persons were not so sweet...

Not sure what a single front wheel weigh's but with the snap-coupler bell spring underneath was this about 6,000 pounds ??

We atcually made it in the 5000# classes. Some scales required the removal of front wt brkt.   Could not do it today the driver weighs 150 more pounds :-)   Almost no oil in tranny, no rear lift housing. Cotton picker tractor.
