Thinking about putting a 426 out of a 7045 into a 8010, one of my concerns is I would like to use the under hood muffler mainly because it has a asperator on it. Both engines have Air Research turbos 8010 has a #T04880 and the 426 has a T04R890, would I be disappointed in performance if I put the 301 turbo on the 426 ? Thanks Dave

I would think so. The smaller turbo will choke the intake for air and constipate the exhaust for exit flow. An older 426 turbo (7030-7060) would be better and get you the 4-bolt on exhaust connection.

So Doc you're saying that Allis put a smaller turbo on the 7045 than a 7030 - 7060 ?

No. 7030-40-45-50-60 all have the exact same turbo with a 4-bolt exhaust outlet to attach your muffler to. 8030-50-70-7080-7580-4W220 all have a different exhaust outlet that you cannot bolt your 8010 muffler to.

The 7045 turbo should have the same outlet as the 8010 turbo, as Dr said above, the round 4 bolt flange. Looks like 8010 uses same turbo as 7010/7000/200/various 301's except 7020.
