Has anyone tried to seal the exhaust manifold to muffler interface to stop the exhaust gasses from coming out? My model C, with new exhaust manifold and muffler, sends exhaust gasses through this interface. It coats the carburator with exhaust carbon.

I've had some sucess with hi temp RTV. BTW, there is a second reason to do this if your equipment lives outside. Now matter what I do, water seems to find its way into the manifold, sooner or later
