I heard this eons ago when he said it originally. We listened to him religiously every noon on the radio. This is one of his best! |

I am sorry for this. I wanted to rewrite a little bit, and somehow it ended up, putting my original posting and my editing.

I heard a lot of stories from that man on the AM/FM in my dad’s square body Chevy pickups. And you always had to love the way he signed off “ And now you know; the; r—-rest; of the story. This is Paul Harvey. Good day”. The man always sounded sincere. With a forever, calming voice, and millions of listeners, he had a way of cutting through it all, so it seemed he was only talking to you.
My dad passed away last Thanksgiving. On the back of his funeral card was the poem, So God Made A Farmer. |

We've got a framed print of it in our living room. When I told Danielle that's what I wanted, she looked at me funny and said "why? You're never into that stuff". Then I played it for her and she wiped a tear and said "I get it"

I know I will sound like an old goat (which I am), but you don't hear anything like that anymore. I still love to listen to AM radio.

Think how much better the world would be if people still listened and felt that way

If he would have run for president, he would have gotten all but 2 or 3 votes. He was SO sincere. I loved listening to him. Thank God some of his stuff is saved.
