    Posted: 02 Dec 2018 at 7:39pm
I recently bought a 37 A that needs all 4 tires. I was just wondering what size tires others have on their A??  I was thinking of going with 14.9 28 on the rear and 7.50 18 on the front. Thanks

Widen the back rims for 18.4x28 widen them on the outside works best. I really like mine at that size. The 7.50 are fine on the front sets level with this set up

Dave is right on with the rear tires, they came with 14-28 tires which converts to 16.9-28.  I've had both, 14.9 and 16.9-28 on mine, I really like the looks of the 16.9 over the 14.9, I ordered new rims with the offset to the outside also.

15 28 wards on mine but that may be a little hard to find. Same as 16.9. If you widen do as said or they will hit the belt pully
Allis Chalmers still exist in my mind and barns

Mine has 11 inch rims so the 16.9 would probably be way to wide

How much work or money do you want to spend? My opinion is As look like crap on OEM sized tires and even worse on the modern replacements for that OEM size, but thats me If you want to keep the OEM rims and not spend much for tires your stuck with 14.9-28s and tires that are all sucked in at the the beads and look like they belong on a 25HP tractor. Or you can widen the rims a little bit and up size to 16.9 and the tires are still too small for a good looking outfit (in my slightly opinionated opinion)  The only way to make an A look right is on the old 15-28 tire which is 18.4-28 today.  The pic is of my A on  old 15-28s with about 4" put in the rims.  A modern 18.4-28 requires a LOT more in the rims to get same look as different tire construction requires different rim width.  18.4- 28s are also very hard to find.  Another option is to go with 18.4-30 and weld a spacer to the drop center so it fits the wheel. They look real nice on a A.

18.4 28 or the thirties like Butch said make the A look like a real tractor in my opinion. I have 18.4 28 on mine.

Here's the A with 14.9's, same tractor with 16.9's.  The 14.9's fit in the furrow better but I just couldn't stand the look, it deserved the bigger footprint!

I.M.H.O. The A with the wider tires look like the D21's Great Grandad.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I like the 16.9's a lot better than the 14.9's so I will be ordering 15inch rims and getting 16.9 tires. I will post pictures when I have the new tires on.
