I heard you can put D-15 internals in a C block. How do you do this and is there any other ways to make a strong pulling engine for a C?

The idea is to appear stock looking. Wanna make them think its just a basic engine.

Unless you weight up a C over 3500 or 4000, a well tuned Stock engine with a combine governor will spin the tires before running out of power. If you don't have a less than 4 mph speed limit it may change things up a bit.
Work on eliminating wheel slip before spending a bushel full of money on horsepower

Well, I guess I can put the video on again to show what you can do with more than the D-15 innards in the stock C block. It had the D-15 crankshaft machined to fit the C block. Also changed the stroke from the 3 7/8" stock to a full 4 inches. Sent the cam to crane for a special grind. increased the piston height to enter the firing chamber. had the engine balanced. I took .150 off the head and used SBC valves. Ported and polished the intake and exhaust. I opened up the manifold to match the head openings. I re jetted the stock carburetor to match the engines needs.
The first pull in the video I slowed the RPM's at the end to try for more grip which didn't work on that track. Second pull I paid close attention to my ground speed and increased the RPM's to overcome the tire slippage and not slow the sled. That worked. If I was not 75 and still pulling I would never told this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hM4YbM8keMM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hM4YbM8keMM Edited by Dick L - 30 May 2013 at 1:49pm |
