I'm putting new seals in the two speed pto on my 7010. When putting the bearing on the front of the 1000 rpm solid shaft, is it best to heat the bearing to install or tap the shaft into it? I can't see where pounding the shaft into the bearing would be good for either the bearing or the race.

I have always driven the shaft into bearing. Don't fit all that tight. MACK

Thanks for the advice. It went on better than anticipated. How tight
does the big nut on the solid shaft go? Just snug or snug and a little
more? Snug and back off? The I&T isn't real good on things like
this.

Just tight enough that there isn't any looseness in the stack of parts. You get it too tight and it will fry that flat needle bearing. On the same note, any looseness and your seals will leak.

I like to tighten the but tight to make sure all the slack is out, then loosen to where it turns free. MACK
