In our little Hermann Hamlet.

Wife showed me the Facebook post of a young man's odyssey as a bicyclist running the KATY trail, diverted along Hwy 19 to Hermann as he often did and was crossing the Loutre River Causeway section of the highway when a "Gray Suburban" crossed into the Bicycle Lane and forced him to lunge over the siderail barrier some 30 feet to the ground.

I saw all the Police cars, County, City of Hermann, State and officers scanning along the bridge for something where was clueless as to these events. NOTHING on news, nothing on radio(Local Warrenton Channel) I listen to in the Haul Truck as I travel that same route N&S at least 12 sometimes 14 times crossing that same point a day.

Saw NO debris on the causeway bridge, supposedly the rider's bike was hit, has been cones and signage flags usually lying down against the side guard along the bridge for construction work on the Main bridge, did not see anything displaced or distorted but Police may had already picked up stuff.  Calls are out for ANYBODY that may have seen/witnessed the events play out to call MSHP or Montgomery Sheriff Office or City of Hermann Police.  There is not ever NO traffic on that section of Road, had to have been somebody seen something.

Drove the causeway with Wife looking, one small scuff point(3-4') but cannot tell if moving N or S on the Causeway or even of was on the correct side, NO Information coming out.  His Bicycle was SUPPOSEDLY stolen from the Bridge as he SUPPOSEDLY "Heard Someone on the bridge at the Bike loading it" which could have been the SUV?

Used to ride a bicycle 2,000 to 2,500 miles a year.  Gave it up when was on a 2 lane road and had a guy in a pickup intentionally cross the center line and head right at me.  Obvioulsy was playing "chicken" but I was forced to off the road and crashed into the gravel.  He was laughing the whole time.  There's some wackos out there.....

Plenty of bike riders that don't use what few brains they have. I live on a old fashion country road in the modern fast paced world. There are city people moved 25 miles from town and that jug of milk, Wink or was it beer they forgot at the store? Anyway a long ways away, SO HURRY, hurry off we go back to town. Big trucks hauling lime powder from the quarry. As well as people headed out to the lake with their boats. Many places there is no shoulder at all bluff, road, cliff.  As well as many curves and major mountains. As well as wine tasters from the winery's that have had who knows how much to drink.

But bicyclist's think it is a great place to ride. On hot days they stop to rest in any shady place. A lot of times around a corner or just over a hill top, SO YOU CANNOT SEE THEM UNTIL YOU ARE VERY CLOSE. Many times it is groups of them. No thought of them pulling over so a loaded truck can pass them. Enough of the I don't care about anybody but myself from them, makes a person really tired of them.

Maybe hard to see the good ones with all the bad ones. But seems 80% are the bad ones.

Is Currently NOT adding Up.  Absolutely NO Witnesses, NO Scuffs on that portion of Side Rail AT ALL, no debris from Bike taking a hit CAR or Bicycle, NO Bicycles in Scrapper yards or Metals Dumpsters anywhere around that match, with None in typical sales points, and NO WITNESS to Anyone picking up a Damaged Bicycle on that shoulder or remembers seeing a damaged bicycle on that portion of shoulder.

Police are starting to reconsider what transpired.
