eginning to freshen up my grandfather's G. He bought it new in '49 and it's still in the family. Engine has never been opened and it still runs fine. I've already put electronic ignition and 12V neg on it (with a new wiring harness) in addition to rebuilding the carb. There are a few things to be done with a 67 year old tractor!
Thanks so far to Steve at B&B Custom Circuits. He's a good sounding board when I don't really know what I'm doing. I have access to a bead blaster at work, so I have been taking many smaller parts down to bare metal. I'll get it painted in a couple of phases. So far, all the metal underneath looks great! That will be my next project too - exactly the same as yours. I take everything to my neighbor to get sandblasted, primed and painted. Then I put everything back together piece by piece, trying not to scratch anything!
Restoring a little G will be a dream compared to this 190XT!!! |
