Serial number - EB 104330 I think the E means in was built in England? |

B 104330 would be a 1950 US built tractor but a 1950 tractor would most likely have electric start and a generator and battery. I don't know of a serial number reference for English built tractors. Better ask Dave Everett.
EB's were built from 1947, this is interesting. Maybe there were EB's built without electric stuff. I wonder if the serial number was stamped in West Allis and the E was added in England. In 1947 British production of the Allis Chalmers Model B began at a factory in Totton, near Southampton, using components imported from the USA. Later, locally-sourced parts were used until finally the British-market Model B was totally UK built at Essendine in Leicestershire, incorporating castings from Bean Industries, sheet metal from Rubery Owen and ENV or Moss transmissions. |
