I've came to the conclusion that trying to use this old stuff isn't worth it! And expenses to repair is to high and every time you use it, something else breaks or needs attention. Put rebuild injection pump on HD3 and went to use, NOT! LH steering clutch is stuck and won't unstick. So Have it about ready to pull out again. And it was just rebuilt 2 years ago. Also got to looking at tracks and one of pins was half way out of the link. Put it back in and will have to weld it to hold in place! Was using HD5 Loader and Control valve started leaking oil on lift spool, And oiled up my right boot petty good! Then to end my day with it, left track came off. Normally I can feel it, if it starts too. And other day I had to quit using the 190 and cutter because PTO won't stay in gear. I can't win!!!!!!!!!!

think about the payments on a new one you would be making even if you werent using it and how it would be worn out in 1/3 of the time.  Big smile

sometimes I think new(er) machines would be nice, but then i couldnt afford it or be able to repair it.

PTO won't stay in gear? Tape the lever! Then it can't move! LOL

I know how you feel about stuff going wrong in a chain reaction like that. Sometimes it makes me want to quit too, but then after running a new tractor, I'm ready to get back to work on the old stuff!

Here's a thought....How come no one can reproduce these tractors? Just put emissions filters on them to satisfy the EPA...

Thought about putting a bungee cord around pto lever. Also just busted another hose on the OLD MF 450 track hoe! It needs most of them replaced! Have been doing as they break. Undercarriage is shot and tracks and pins-bushing are worn through and have been welded back together to many times! Thinks it time to park it too! Could use the 6 cylinder Perkins to power the saw mill. Neighbor is suppose to bring over his Cat D5H and track hoe to finish this project.

I gots an old gray market kuboter, the PTO wouldn't stay in gear.  Made a special block of wood, I keep in the toolbox, that slides in under the PTO lever, to keep it in gear.  Just have to remember to step on the clutch, a little early, when bush hogging...WinkWink

had an old IH 403 combine, the throttle lever had worn the cog off that kept it at full throttle, but by dropping a wrench down behind it in the slot, it would stay at full throttle!

I have plenty of experience as we use to sell farm and light construction equipment. No pleasure in fixing them for me! As I can't lift much with bad back! And I hate asking for help, Getting old Sucks!
