Mine's badly worn and I was wondering how hard it would be to remove and replace ? Does the tractor have to be split ? Thanks !!

Weld a nut to end, use a slide hammer and give it a try. MACK

Try new bronze bushings in the clutch pedal and you'll be happy.

Doesn't the PTO shifter spring and detent ball sit in the inside end of the clutch pedal pivot pin and if he pulls the shaft to replace it, he is going to loose the ball and maybe the spring and will have to get it out of the bottom of the torque tube. You might be better of doing like the Dr. says and rebuild the pedal bore and try it before pulling the pedal pivot pin. I have also seen the worn pin welded up and resurfaced with a grinder and file with it in the tractor.

The detent spring for the PTO lever is indeed inside the clutch pedal pivot shaft.

New bushings came today and I have them installed , much better . I did re-use one of the old bushings , so I have 2 and 1/2 in now . Also turned the clutch rod in a couple turns . Everything went well on my test drive . Thanks !

I have made new pins in the machine shop that I drill a hole completely thru the center the correct size for the spring and ball to be installed, then tap the hole for a larger set screw to be used to set the tension on the spring and ball, then use a bolt and washer to hold clutch pedal on the shaft. The new shaft can then be installed into the casting to the correct depth and the ball and spring installed in the hole trom the outside and adjusted for pressure against the PTO fork. Still need to pull the side plate to retrieve the ball, and sometimes the spring if it falls out of the hole upon removal of the old pin, but it's still easier than trying to hold the ball in place in the end of the pin while driving in the replacement. That is darn near impossible.
