what is a good tire pressure to run on a stock powered wd, based on it raining for the last 40 hours and the weather not showing any signs of being hot and sunny the track will be wet. any other general stuff for my first time pulling on june 22 besides have fun, which is a given. weighed it today, never had so much fun driving 10.5 mph in the rain. it was quite a sight, bright orange tractor, loud got a mean cackle when its loaded or revved up. me in my soaked pants and bright yellow rain slicker with my granpa following me in his 79 f150.... never had so much fun

I run 18 psi in my WC on brand new fire stones if u go to low u can spin the tire on the rim and wreck your tubes some guys pull there tires a couple times to get them set to the rim then drop down to 12 to 14 psi I leave mine hard I'm not chancing spinning a tire tube cost to much so does laber mounting and dismounting the rear tires!

Air pressure depends a lot on the weight of the tractor and the ply of the tire. I just pulled my WC tonight in 3500 and 4000 with 6 lbs of air. It was a dry track and my tires are old and hard. Honestly unless your pulling 5500 lb even new tires shouldn't need much more than 10 lbs of air on a wd I would think. Good luck

My rule is generally hard track more pressure/ soft track less pressure. That being said we usually run 10 psi in both of our WC pullers no matter what! We have had good luck including winning two different classes on one of the WCs yesterday on a loose sandy track. Kip

10 to 12 psi, you dont want to sacrifise hitch height due to sagging tires, learned that the hard way.

Keep track of every hook you make. Log weight class,tire pressure, track conditions,front weight, rear weight also note if the frontend came up or not and what place you finished. This will benifit you for the following year. In the 4000lbs class I normally run 8psi and then +2psi for every 500lbs. I run firestorms 151 15.5-38s

the track is good soil with some sand underneath it but i dont think its on top where the pulling happens, i have decent tread left on the goodyears, enough to sink in a good bit on the soaked gravel in my grandpas yard when we were moving it around and weighing it the other day when it rained, he was thinking of running about 8 psi or so and seeing what happens, the tractor weighs 3300 pounds with me on it so we are running 3500, 4000 4500 and dependig on if we power out or spin out in the 4500 pound class maybe 5000. it will be all in first gear as we have 2.5 mph rules. and for panky only, the rules are not weighted for john deeres as the three guys who started the pulling association (my grandpa included) all run allis chalmers. they do this to keep the higher powered tractors who want to run second gear and higher rpms out of the farm stock class. even if i wanted to run 2nd i wouldnt cuase it got heavily used and now growls fairly loudly
