Main jet threads in Carb body are stripped(not by me, I might add). Can it be helicoiled? Doesn’t look like much there. And threads are nonexistent. Thanks

I would try the JB Weld! If there is any slight threads still there red Loctite should hold it as well. It would be easier to work with in the smaller area than JB Weld. There wouldn't be enough vacuum to dislodge it. It just has to seal to any bypass.

There are zero threads left. Slick. Bought the tractor from a young feller and the tractor belonged to his great grandad. It has seen its better days. Did not have block and head. But did have several parts that attach to engine. The main jet was held in by a pipe strap attached to two Carb bowl screws with a bolt screwed through the strap to put pressure on the main jet. And from the looks of tractor, been sitting in LA weather since great granddad quit using it. Lot of parts I can use on another G I have, however. Thanks

The main jet in this carburetor is actually an orifice. To make an orifice that would work with a larger outside diameter you need to have the correct size hole and the exact length of the hole or land length. The taper on the back side is also important. The front does not have to be exact being a non adjustable jet or orifice. If you get a slip press fit the red Loctite would hold it in place.

I would do that myself Fred now. When in my twenties I had to save back my coffee break money to buy a can of Permatex. I had to learn how to repair and use what others threw away. I assume that some might be in that position now.

Fellers I appreciate all the comments. Tractor doesn’t have an engine. Trying to repair the Carb because I would hate to see it go to waste. Will consider all suggestions and then decide what I will do. Thanks!

I have a couple G carburetors out in the parts that will most likely never get checked or repaired if they need any repair. Been there ten or fifteen years! Probly still be there for the estate sale. Machining mold repair parts this week along with welding up a new walker frame. I can do that from my chair. Gonna have to hire help to put a new clutch in the 5020 though. Gripes my rear that I am not strong enough anymore.

I just this morning fixed one of those (same carb used on MH Pony). I own Grand Valley Tractor...discount tractor parts with full machine shop attached. I designed a solution, then machined it. I just finished the leak test 20 minutes before seeing your post. You can find our phone # on the internet.

I was actually successful on most of those TSV13 missing thread Carbs. I've used thread restorer in order to repair them. The cast aluminum is such crap, that it rots terribly making things tough to repair. Fred is correct. If the thread restorer doesn't work, time to purchase a good parts Carb and rebuild it. Even the float bowl floors get rot holes in them on those particular Carbs. I've poured new epoxy floors in some customers Carbs making it like new again. Time is money though! The pic that Fred posted looks like a nice Carb to rebuild. Even the jet is super nice and not all screwed up from somebody not using the correct tool to remove the jet. Man, how many of those have I seen! Sheesh, makes it a project for me getting them out when somebody else was in there not knowing what their doing..... LOL!
