Im putting a new battery box on my G and want to go ahead and put new cables on as well. Anyone know the length I need? Where dose the ground hook to? I think the set up that was on here from the previous owner was all wrong, considering the battery box, if you could call it that, was held on with one sheet metal screw! Thanks for the help.

Joe I am currently restoring a G now, I ran into the same problem, I went with new cables and box, I will measure the cable lengths and get back to you with some info when I get back out to the shop this weekend.

Positive ground 6volt braided cable is 15" long end of lug to end of lug. Runs forward out of battery box and connects to box mount bolt. Cable to starter 1/0 size runs rearward to starter and is 27" long end of lug to end of lug. These are what I have as new cables, got them from Doc's Equipment, he is listed on this site under parts and services if you want the correct type.
