Well, I don't know what how you would call it but I grew up on a farm. When I left home for college I had 5 cows and a Chevy pickup. My dad was tired of feeding my cows so somehow I managed to rent 300 acres of grass and buy 25 more cows while I was in college, I did get a couple years of school paid for on a football scholarship so that helped. Last two years I worked in a repair shop for a farmer who became sick and one year after I got out of school he died. His wife and sister in law rented me their ground (3 quarters plus 2 that was family a lot of irrigation) I bought equipment and the following year rented another 13 quarters, spent a lot of nights sleeping over a steering wheel and about 6 years later got rid of that damn old Chevy pickup that had 490,000 miles on 400 pontiac engine, she was getting a little rough, but still would break the motor mounts. ![]() ![]() Another thing, a lot of business men will buy farmland for investments and rent it on shares. I farm for a man that grew up here and believe it or not has a CPA and is a attorney, and one of his clients is AGCO, and he still buys land however I farm his families ground and he buys land in eastern KS because he said he owned enough land in the dry hellhole where I farm. ![]() ![]() As far as my degree, it came in the mail, don't know where I put it, and
I still have nightmares about the business law professor. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

thanks for your story ! you're a farmer first ! You got your real education there. I still want to know where you put the 5 cows while in the college, did they graze in the courtyards on campus ?? A businessman buying a farmland as investment(on paper) isn't what I was thinking, he never gets his hands dirty, can get up late, not worry about power going off with 300 head more than ready to be milked. I was trying to say a 'suit' trading in his day job for actual farm life( think Green Acres ...)

I don't know why anyone would trade his leave his business for farm life that he knows nothing about but that can be any profession, unless he wanted to do reality tv. ![]() Hell I can get up late and not worry about power going off for 300 head, although if I did I bet my banker would get worried. ![]() Oh, and buy the way Oliver couldn't even make enough to put a roof on his house so he wasn't much of a business man.

So here is a new twist being reported in some news outlets. According to some industry insiders, when Wipe Me took over, there was an immediate change in banking rules. Fed Reserve and DOJ immediately put a squeeze on lenders to completely shut down the oil and gas industry. Can't get credit or financing for new wells, fracking or any such thing. They go after banks that violate that order. While on the road yesterday, heard a replay of Wipe Me during campaign prior to election. In his own words, he is doing exactly what he said he would do. Shut down the US Energy sector. Explains why prices have been climbing steady since Nov 3rd, 2020. Gas here that day was $1.75. It stands at $3.99 as of today.

What don't make sense is we only get 4% of our oil from Russia. How can 4% make the prices go up as much as it is?

Speaking of Russia and fuel prices, here you go, let's see how they're faring. Go in settings and set play speed to 1.5X, he's just learning English by watching old American movies and speaks slow. Listen to the part about speed radars, the police cars don't have them anymore they're just overhead along the streets but it's painted on the highway so you know to slow down. ![]() That's why there's videos like these. ![]() |

I have NOT read the majority of the above posts, BUT, with ALL major manufactures going to "hybrid/electric drives, WHY is there so much "cackle" ?? And IMO the cost of gasoline "should" be 'nil today

Vids on YT how these Function, under Hard Throttle Demand (IE At EXCESSIVE Highway Speeds) these rely on the Small GAS ENGINE DIRECTLY and the Electric takes a Rest. Know of at least ONE idiot whining at a Gas Station as I got off for gas same spot as to his Hybrid eating him out of his wallet, Looked at him straight on and explained, "at 80+mph do not expect ANY machine to give you any economy" then looked at cashier and grinned, explained the Dope passed me and I was doing 80.

Bought gas at an Inconvenience Store last week. Borrowed dad's truck (with the engine size on an emissions sticker on the rad support) because it's much more suitable for towing. Gassed it up for him, $129 to fill it up. EXCEPT, pumps are programmed to shut off at $100. Must be the programmers thought any more than that must be spilling on the ground or something. So, then the pump won't read your card again, because you just used it, says go see the cashier. I tell her, with the price of gas, $100 doesn't fill a pickup, that's a dumb limit. "OH I hear ya!" Her preprogrammed response to the hundreds of people complaining to her about the price of gas. I said, I'm not complaining to you about the price of gas, I'm telling you about how your pumps work! She just looked lost, might as well have just talked to the pump about it.

some things are different ,here north of the 49th !! you put cc into gas pump choose amount of $$ you want to spend(10,20 50,100, fill, etc) CC gets 'approved' choose gas type pump shuts off at $$ you selected side note... a LOT of gas and dash robberies now ! You can pump and NOT pay. seems stupid to me to allow this, heard that stations usually deduct from employees pay |

You can prepay inside a preset amount with a card. That'd be nice to have the $$ option right at the pump I guess, though I never mess around with a few dollars personally, when I need gas I fill my tank. Prepaying inside, if you ask for a fill up, I don't know if it would go past $100 or not at the pump, I sort of guess "NOT" at this point in time. I just about never do that, unless all the pump readers are out of order!
