Went to find fuel filters for my 715B with Perkins engine , seems a item that is hard to find now as least at a price they use to be .
I found some on-line but shipping cost was out of site as was filter price .
See John Deer filters AT17387 is a interchange and found some for $5 but wanting $7.95 for shipping .
Just found 4 filters on closeout area of Fleet Farm in WI but took almost 1/2 hour to locate actual hiding place - got them for $4.05 each - so good for a while now .
Seems filter is also Automotive , Marine use and Construction but prices up to $17 on some adds + the shipping cost .
Lot of adds are OUT OF STOCK - or Discontinued item .
Getting harder to run old equipment at a reasonable cost every day

Just purchased two last week for my Perkins powered Hobart Bros. welder. Same filters on my Hyster lift truck with a Perkins. Baldwin BF825 at my local Fleet Pride truck parts store. Both filters were about $16.00 with communist republic of Illinois taxes added on.

I switched out to spin on fuel filters last summer. More $ than it should have been, but just a little easier.

Seller on E-bay said would ship filters for $10 and $4.50 each if I bought 4 of them .

Baldwin still fills quite a bit of the older filters needed. My old Red Diamond engine in the R-190 truck still uses a cartridge filter as do a couple of my older Mack tractors and I've not really had problems sourcing filters for these through either Hastings, or Baldwin, (both same corporate parent). Wix is becoming more "hit and miss" than days of past. Can't get the correct filter elements for the "LuberFiner" bypass filter on my 1962 Mack any longer. Couldn't get the correct element for my HD-11 which is a Fleetguard bypass unit on the dozer either, so went to Baldwin which was current for both applications.

I have also in the past manufactured a filter cartridge adapter and mounted remote spin on filters for an old Hercules Diesel engine which is still in service.

On my HD5 I made my own adapter to switch lube and fuel filter over to spin on , but the primary filter (small wound string filter) is hard to find . Use to have source from air conditioner oil filter for large centervac  compressor
