Going to be mounting a blade on the front of my freeman loader on my D14. Does anyone have any pictures or diagrams that they used to mount for it? This is just a standard blade from a truck. Thanks.

Grandpa had already welded a 'top link' on our loader frame. I built my blade, but this is how I mounted it.

I made a blade from an old 55 gal water heater and ran a heavy angle iron along the bottom. I drilled 2 holes and mounted it like Greg's then added 2 pieces of angle iron on the top cross tube for a top link. I used a piece of box tubing for a top link and drilled a bunch of holes for adjustment. If I tip it too far forward it digs into the driveway, if I lean it back, the angle iron rides on the ground and helps keep it from digging in. https://plus.google.com/photos/101907304795732239945/albums/5690623262383557361

Thanks Danny. I'm saving that to my documents. That top pic is the bucket I have out back. I use the home made blade more than the snow bucket.

I used the A frame from the snow plow so I can angle the blade. I plow a long drive and need that feature. Also it is not a paved road so I like having the plow springs in case I hit something. Sorry I don't have pics of the mount but I could get them. Makes it alittle long in front but works well.

Ken I bought them from a guy in Nodine MN. He actually had a couple of sets. They always need some repairs but I had road chains before and they are worthless. My tractors are not to far from you. In the Willard area. Mike

Maybe it's a short muffler! When I got this tractor the lever was bent around like a pretzel and I think the mount was cracked. Not knowing much about trip loaders and tractors(still don't) that is what I put on. It works. If someone has a pick of the factory lever on a loader I may consider changing it or I may have to grow longer arms!

 Dean here are a couple of pics of my mount. The A frame came with the blade but I had to make it fit my loader. The loader just bolts or pins to the frame and I angle it manually. Sorry the pics aren't real clear. If you need any more help just let me know. Mike

Well I finally got the blade mounted, ended up mounting it directly to the blade. Here is a pic of it.
I think it turned out pretty good. Although I have a feeling I will have to weigh down the back tires. This blade is heavy, about 350lbs.

Looks good. Weight on the back won't be as necessary for a blade as it would for a bucket. I used my 5 foot snow bucket and in wet snow it got real light on the back even with fluid in the rears. It's never been a problem pushing snow with a blade. The problem I had was snow before the ground froze hard and the blade would dig in too much. You might have to tip the top forward to keep it from digging in or tip it back if you want it to dig in more.

Right now it digs in really well. For the first pass I plan on just lifting the blade up just enough to take some of the weight off of it. Then once it is packed down I should be good. Overall I am really happy with the outcome. Plus I can't complain as I got the blade for free. The cutting edge is a little buckled but it still sits level so I should be good.

Does the plow have shoes? I needed the springs on my blade because the road I plow has some rocks that appear from time to time. Plus they came with my blade and I need to angle my blade both ways. I have weighted rears and the most aggressive chains I could find but again I am plowing a farm field road. Should work good for you.

No shoes on the blade, but it does have two pieces of 3/8" L shaped steel welded to the cutting edge. So there is a little bit of elevation. It will be used to plow a gravel drive way so I hope it works well.
