Does anyone have a drawing with the dimensions of the the hub pusher bolts for a 7000 and other tractors?  I was thinking about making a set for my 7000 while I have full machine shop access at college :).  I figured it would make a good Friday or Saturday night project.

	You don't happen to know the diameter of the bolt (what bolt to start off with) and the turned down portion? I believe if I remember correctly it's a 3/4 bolt. Hurst

	3/4-10 bolt with a 1/2" pilot diameter. The bolt will probably have to be a grade 5 for toughness and the pilot would have to be ground down. If you can find an "off the shelf" bolt that can be modified you could probably make a little money producing them....I'm thinking the factory bolts were hardened and then the threads were ground into them. That is how our spindle shafts were made back when I worked as a machinist for a machine tool company.

	I'll have to give it a try soon and see what I can come up with. I may cut the threads in the shank of a longer bolt in the lathe after turning down the other end. Hurst

	Your best bet would be a grade 8 or better bolt with a rolled thread. ARP might be a good source.

	Where do you find full thread grade 8 bolts? I looked on McMaster and didn't see them. Are they something that can ususally be found locally? I'm not really in a dire need of them, just thought it would be something I would make use of the machine shop access. Also have access to CNC mills too... so I gotta think of something I need to make with those too :). I was one of the only freshmen that got into the machine shop class last year (just by luck I guess), and was one of the few if not the only one to get full access. Everyone always asked if I had worked at a machine shop before or something. I just smile and said no, but I've made similar stuff with an angle grinder before, just not as accurately lol. Hurst

	How about center drilling a Grade 8 bolt and inserting a harden steel pilot? I hate the mess of grinding! A couple thou interference fit. Freeze the pilot and heat the bolt.

	I did mine as Rawleigh said, but with a grade 5 bolt. Three inches long, so was full thread. Couldn't find anything tough enough to drill an 8. Anyway, I gave up and bought a set. Lloyd

	I have no problem with turning down the end of a 3/4 bolt on a lathe, I was just thinking about the threaded portion. Not sure where I can find 3/4x5in gr 8 bolt fully threaded to start with. The center drilling idea sounds possible. I do have access to reamers too, so I could get a good interface fit there. Just wondering if I'll have enough wall thickness left to give the threaded section enough strength to pull the hub. Hurst

	You will find McMaster Carr EXCELLENT on delivery as well. They aren't always the cheapest, but they sure have a lot of oddball stuff.
