    Posted: 31 Aug 2014 at 10:34pm
After my mechanic worked on the AC 720 for about 8 weeks, we finally got it running and almost lifting an ARK 600 front-end loader, until another dry-rotted hyd. pipe ruptured! Among other things, we had replaced the starter-switch, rebuilt the starter, but couldn't get starter to even try turning. Finally wired in a relay switch to give continuous 12v to starter, and it worked!

1st) Does anyone have the Oil Filter types and numbers for the Onan 19.5hp? ( Car Quest ..... )

2nd) How about the types / numbers of Hydraulic Oil Filter? (NAPA....)?

3rd) My mechanic said to use 10W-40 multigrade oil in the AC 720 Onan Engine? I was always made to use straight 30 like Rotella T 30W (with zinc additive)? What do you say?

FROM OWNERS MANUAL:  Engine Oil Filter Element AC number 2067272, suppliers should have cross reference. Hydraulic system oil filter 1650954. Engine Oil for above 90 degrees F use SAE 50, above 30 F use SAE 30, below 30 degrees F use 5W30. Nice tractor, I would like one. Doug in Ontario.

Purolator Numbers
Oil filter  L20195
Hyd Filter L14670
The  Onan manual calls for these grades
Below 0 - SAE 5W30
Below 32 - SAE 5W30 or 10W40
Above 32 - SAE 30

Hope this helps
