Rumor or story goes the tractors were turned back to stock and sold at his dealerships , he supplied AC pullers with parts from AC but when AC quit getting involved so did he

I heard the same thing. Theres a fella on here from time to.time that would know. Goes by the name of tbran, I think.
sometimes I walk out to my shop and look around and think "Who's the idiot that owns this place?"

AC never sponsored or provided any new tractors for pulling.  Nobel had retired AC service rep Ed Elgin (anyone who ever shook hands with him would never forget those paws)  help him and they set up many AC pulling tractors - we paid for everything....


AC DID give them Dyno time - AC was trying staged turbos for military use.  Terry Wood was the engineer I knew at Harvey. Nobel had pumps, turbos, fuel lines, transfer pumps, injector tips, dual clutches etc.  Everything was going well until one less than intelligent farmer puller threatened to sue AC because he was not getting the 'good stuff' .   Word came down that no AC employee would 'touch' a pulling tractor. So, a few of us went underground for farm pulls - the Mckinnon's Bobbs, Lancasters, Brabecs and others took the lead and went WAY above the first tractors that had H&R stickers on them...
