Yea, bolts would work best to hold it together.... I've wondered about this myself ,what flywheel to use, how it might have to modified for the C starter to work, and if having an RC adapter plate would ease the installation?
Then whether you would need / or want to add side rails? They might help with front bolster mounting...... Tin work and cooling????
I wouldn't bother with all this work on a C , a CA , maybe.....

B-C-CA-D10-12-14-15 are one pattern.   116 to 160 inch
WC- WD- 45- D17 - are another pattern  201- 226 inch
Like them all, but love the "B"s.
