Ordinarily I would not ask a question like this on a public forum but I have never much been bitten by the 60s big tractor bug and thus I dont keep up with pricing. I have located a pretty decent 220 and it has my attention. It is mechanicaly sound, all appearances would indicate low hours, tach shows less than 2000 but who knows if it is correct. Tractor has pto but no 3 point. Tin is staight and all there. Paint is original and decent enough to leave alone. A slick paint job is all it needs to be A-1.  Rubber is 80% and big up front but on 18.4s on the back (kinda looks goofy on 18.4 singles  wish it was on 24.5) and it is of course not FWA or I would be posting pics of my latest steal, no asking questions LOL.  Now for the question, I have absolutely no use for a 220 but like the idea of having my savings in the machine shed where it can gain value and not pay taxes on it.  I can own it delivered to the farm for 6K. Whats the market for these things??  Should I or shouldn't I???

For my 2 cents, that sounds pretty good. That is all I would pay for that because it does not have 3 point. They only made 1866 of these tractors from Norms book so this is a low production tractor. Serial numbers were from  1004 in 69, 1938 to 2450 in 70, 2451 to 2625 in 71 and 2626 to 2866 in 72. You look www.tractorhouse.com to see some on there. The one 220 from canada does not have the original motor. If it is all original and does not need the motor worked on, I would say go for it. I would keep it the way it is and not paint it from the condition you said. Those rear tires are from what you said and about 850 each new.

Keep us posted and good luck.

Take care, Darryl

Butch I don t follow that size tractor much either but if you compare what IH,and deeres of that size and age are bringing that really sounds like a pretty fair deal.I think you will see it only appressiate in value.Good Luck with it

Sounds like a fair price for what it is.My tach had around 2000hr but the engine had a factory replacement short block and the trans had been apart already.Who knows what they've been through

Clamp a set of duals on with your 18.4 rears and voila! instant attitude. Boy oh boy, I just can't get enough of the Two-Twenty tractors!
I think the price seems fair enough. Especially delivered! Of course, now you will have to find a Two-Ten and a D21 to go with it. I promise you will find yourself wanting the complete set. Mine is in the process of getting prettied up. It appears to have the correct block, but she has an intercooler on the head. I am trying to decide if I should change it back to factory. I suppose it has a lot to do with how hard it has to work in the future.
If it weren't for the last minute, I wouldn't get anything done!

Butch - with no 3point you'll have to find you an on-land hitch pull-type plow but once you take that puppy out to plow each spring, nobody will want to sit on the B anymore plowing one bottom at a time!  If you want some more advice, call Niel Evens at Northside Salvage - they've been through and restored so many 21's, 210's & 220's they can tell you everything you need to know.  618-282-2455.   Mike

Would this be the one at Randall Bros.?  If so, looks like a nice tractor for the price.

Buy it, in my opinion they are the next D21 in big tractor popularity. Not a bad price, one up the road from me for $10k and I think he has it sold.
