Now that AGCO supplies ARP rod bolts for the 426,what is the torque spec? OEM 12pt bolt is something like 67.5 lb/ft. |

they are sold as a pair(one rod), and come with a tech bulletin for torquing procedures. I believe it was to be torqued to 60, and backed off 3 times, then final torqued to 80, or 85, using oil for lube, not moly paste. I am going off memory here, so I may be off a little on #'s. important part is they come with the bulletin, and are reasonably priced from Agco. will re-post tonite once I get the sheet out.

I've used these ARP/AGCO rod bolts in two D-21 engines. They make me feel at lot more confident in the engine especially with the one D-21 that I bought having a rod hanging out through the block. I convinced my neighbour to use ARP head bolts in his D-19 diesel.
