	My Gleaner E combine the Govenor needs adjusting and I don't know how to go about it. The problem is the Governor is slow to react. If the engine is under a heavy load it is ok like combining and traveling up grade. The problem is if I travel down a slope where the engine is not under a load and turn around and go back up the same slope the engine will pull down to 1400 rpm before the gov brings it back up to 1650 rpm. I have tried adjusting the linkage from carb to gov rod as per the manual and by shortining the rod it makes it worse, pulls down to 1100 rpm. 	I do not have any first hand experience with your governor but can give you some general knowledge about what might be wrong. 1. The gain may be too low. This is a designed-in feature that you do not have control of except to make sure you have the correct governor spring and counter weights and have the linkage adjusted properly. 2. There may be excess friction in the system. Look for worn and sticking parts especially around the governor spring and the counterweight linkages. Any ridges, grooves, or worn pins need to be fixed so everything moves smoothly. Is it being oiled?

	I had a very similar problem on my D15, real slow in response, if at all. I found that there was a lot of friction in the linkage, primarily the vertical linkage shaft coming out of the top of the governor was gummed up. I cleaned it up and lubricated it with penetrating lubricant, and it was as good as new. Try that first.
