Just a few thoughts and idea's I have on AGCO...
When we talk about AGCO now, should it be labeled off topic?
AGCO's future vision:
'AGCO is currently in the process of phasing out AGCO.'
My new idea for AGCO's for current DTB series tractor advertising:
'The new AGCO DTB series tractors. Long live the family farm...until 2010.'
Possible idea's for the Challenger line:
'We challenge you to buy Challenger' or 'Challenge yourself with Challenger' or 'Challenger, it's so good even Dodge brought it back'
Possible idea's for the Massey line of high horsepower tractors:
'Massey Furgesen, it's worldwide, so you should buy it here too.' or 'Massey Furgesen, we eliminated the number one selling tractor of our three, so take a look at number two.'
or 'Massey Furgesen, hey, at least it's not yellow.'
Possible idea's for new Gleaner advertising:
'Gleaner combines, Massey and Challenger have combines also.' or 'Gleaner combines, still silver...for now.' or 'Gleaner combines...we haven't phased out everything just yet.'
AGCO's possible thoughts before discontinuing the Orange tractor:
'Yellow and Red blended correctly make Orange, so the guys with Allis-Chalmers heritage should be happy about still having that.'

I talked to the New Holland guy today who also sells Case/IH and MF. They originally were only MF. I asked how many MF's they sell and their the biggest MF dealer around by far. He said in all sizes, except compact, they sell 10-15 MF's a year a few more NH and a few more Case/IH. He said in the big tractors it's mostly Case IH.
The AGCO dealer I go to I would bet sells as much AGCO as the other big corporate dealer sells MF and probably more and their small. In my neck of the woods it makes no sense. Nobody in their right mind would buy a challenger over an AGCO unless they wanted it yellow. You'll pay more initially, you'll pay more for shop/labor and you'll always be at least a second maybe third class citizen to their construction side. With the small AGCO dealer you were number one with CAT you may be on the next hand. |
