I am currently restoreing a 1943 C with a single front wheel that i got this past summer. After many years of sitting out side there was water in eveything includeing the steering gear which you had to jerk on the wheel to make it turn. i took the gear apart and the bearings were in peices. You can still get these bearings from Agco which suprised me. both bearing cones and the beaing cup that goes on the bottm end cost about $12.00 each which isn't bad. The cup for the top end is a different story. Agco wants about &300.00 for this one bearing cup. I thought they were nuts so i called a local bearing house and they found some for around $250.00 and a Timken race was $1000.00 thats correct they wanted one thousand dollars for a race. so i came up with a fix. I took some bushing stock and made a bushing or a adaptor that looks like the original bearing but holds the smaller and much cheaper race that goes on the bottom end. I started to think that this might be something that i could sell. Would any one be interested in one of these ? I don't know what i would charge but it would be alot less than the $250.00 they wanted for the race. The original bearing is on the left and the one laynig down is for the bottom end. My replacement is on the right. Tell me what you think and if your interested in one. Thanks Matt

I have just got my first Allis C and live in Jordan so would be interested in talking to someone that might know more about tractors than me. I have a question on the PTO that I can't figure out. Send me an email if you are open to me asking you a question. vpint@analysts.com
